Eden's destruction
65satan's purpose
Isaiah 14:12 in the NKJV reads: How you have fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer son of the morning. How you are cut down to the ground. You who weakened the nations. v13 goes on to detail how satan tried to put his throne above God's. satan was originally a cherub an angel. He wasn't created to be satan the enemy of our souls. (Ezekiel 28:14). satan was created beautiful and perfect by God. This made satan prideful. In his pride satan led other angels to rebel against God. (2 Peter 2:24). After this rebellion God threw satan and his fallen angels out of heaven. It is at this point that satan is no longer an acceptable angel but the unacceptable devil. The enemy of God. Once satan and his rebellious angels were cast out God created man in His own image. (Gen 3:26). Man (Adam), was given dominion over the garden of Eden. dominion in the Hebrew means to subjugate, to tread down, to reign, to rule. In other words Adam was to be the ruler of this world. Nothing in scripture limits this world to being just the garden of Eden. Had Adam and Eve not sinned I believe the entire surface of this world would eventually have become the garden of Eden. satan hating God now had a new enemy to focus his hatred on. Adam and Eve. He hated them because God loved them. satan wanted to destroy them. Now man was created a little lower than the angels (Psalm 8:5). Man has free will to make decisions. Angels are higher than man do they therefore have free will? Apparently so, otherwise satan could not have sinned in the first place because God makes no one to sin. satan wanted to not just destroy man but to do it in such a way that would hurt God. satan's purpose was to get man to sin which would 1: hurt God and 2. separate man from his birthright - his dominion over this world. If you do not believe that satan has dominion - the right to rule over this world look at John 14:30 and 2 Corinthians 4:4. These scriptures refer to satan as the ruler of this world and the god of this world respectively. God the creator our heavenly Father is never referred to in scripture with a lower case g. Therefore 2 Corinthians 4:4 could not be speaking of God our creator. No it speaks of satan. satan who stole Adam's birthright. That was satan's purpose in tempting Even with the forbidden fruit he did it to steal the birthright. When things go wrong in our world it's not the will of God the creator. It's satan's will - the little god of this world. Ephesians 2:2 and Ephesians 6:12 make it clear our enemy is not man but powers and principalities. This directly refers to satan and his fallen angels. Do not fear satan he is already defeated. He lost before he ever started. God promised Jesus before the world began. Jesus defeated satan at Calvary by becoming sin for all mankind. All mankind includes every person born then, every person born now, and every person yet to be born. So don't blame God the creator when your having problems or for the state of the world. Recognize satan for the bully he is and defeat him by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Then and only then do you have access to two of the best weapons you can use. The blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony - yes your testimony about Jesus. There is your answer to why did satan tempt Eve with the forbidden fruit. 1. to hurt God. and 2. to steal Adam's birthright to this world so that satan could play at being God. So that he could use that authority to separate people from God by convincing them that God is an angry deity who abuses His Godhood. God is also incapable of lying. God told Adam that on the day Adam ate the forbidden fruit he would die. God does not define death as being the death of your flesh. God defines death as being eternal separation from Him.
